Tech-Death Brutalisers PRAVITAS Drop Ferocious Single

Leeds-based tech-metal outfit Pravitas have announced details of their upcoming debut LP, The Parasitic Divine, due 30th March via self-release, alongside a brand new single & music video titled “Defragment“.

An explosive, ferocious and groove-laden slice of tech-death, “Defragment” sees the Leeds unit return to the fold stronger than ever before. Their first release with new inductee Chris Sellers on vocals, Pravitas‘ brutal and technical sound has never been so complete and realised as now.

Evidenced through the track’s effortless weaving of mind-melting technicality, “Defragment” is an absolute masterclass of the genre, and truly has it all for any budding tech-metal enthusiast: technical riffs, crushing chugs, an unforgettable solo, and a powerful chorus.

Accompanying the single is an electrifying music video, offering a visual experience that matches the song’s energy and complexity. The video highlight the band’s raw performance and captivating aesthetic, further immersing fans in the world of Pravitas

The Parasitic Divine promises a dynamic journey through complex rhythms, primal grooves and soaring melodies, cementing Pravitas as a rising force in the tech-metal scene.

Drawing comparisons to the likes of MeshuggahPeripheryDecapitated and NecrophagistPravitas‘ signature grasp on tech-metal is vast, varied and considered from top to bottom.

The comparisons are apt too, as you may recognise Pravitas as the band behind UK-based Meshuggah tribute band Milk & Two Shuggahs, the continent’s only officially-endorsed cover band of its type.

They’ve made a name for themselves both as Pravitas and Milk & Two Shuggahs, performing across the country at their own shows, or at festival appearances such as both the 2022 and 2023 editions of UK Tech-Fest, the second of which saw the covers act take to the main stage.

Born in the ‘70s Ro has been influenced by music throughout his life. At the tender age of 10, he was dutifully pumping 10ps into the Jukebox to listen to AC/DC’s Whole Lotta Rosie and Iron Maiden’s Run to The Hills constantly, much to the chagrin of everything else in the Youth Club! Ro then went to his first gig – SAXON! Since then all music has been his passion, with metal at its heart.
