Doris Brendel

Following a Classical upbringing in Vienna, Brendel replaced the violin with the guitar and moved over to the dark side as soon as she arrived in the UK as a teenager. Forming a rock band was the first thing she did and hasn’t looked back since. The singer is known for her eclectic repertoire and has covered a huge collection of genres over the years but has been mostly embraced by the Prog scene. She has been signed to Sony, Virgin and London Records and has toured with a collection of bands, most recently Wishbone Ash and Fish.

Jackie ‘Jax’ Chambers

Lead Guitarist for Girlschool & Syteria
Born in Bradford I’d always had a passion for music and started playing guitar at the age of 17 in punk bands in the north, then moving down to London where i joined Girlschool in 1999.
Over the last 25+ years of touring and recording I also started my own band Syteria so that I could play live as much as possible.
Having toured with some of  my favourite bands I now like to check out up and coming talent and think its now time to introduce some of them to the HRH audience, as well as play some of the classic rock and punk songs that  everyone will be expecting.

Beth Charlesworth

Following a childhood in which all cultural input suffered strict parental censorship, Beth went on a haphazard search for music she liked. Investigating up and down the chain of influence opened up the worlds of prog, power metal, and even some modern bands. What unites all these disparate branches of rock? Beth figured out the answer a few years ago when the existing rock stations weren’t offering enough of what she enjoyed. What was missing was riffs that stayed in her head ad infinitum, solos that made her reach for the air guitar, and soaring vocal lines she loved belting out. In short, the kind of songs that make you say: “Tune!”. Whether heavy or gentle, time-honoured or brand new, Beth brings you rock music with melody front and center where it belongs.

Alex Clarke

Based in Nottinghamshire but born and bred in Derby, Alex was brought up on classic rock and glam metal. This foundation in over-the-top aggressive rock obviously rubbed off on his impressionable and young mind. As he got older, Alex discovered NWOBHM and thrash, and realized he wanted to find bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden but, you know….faster. That’s when Alex was lucky enough to be handed a copy of Hammerfall: Chapter V and everything clicked into place! Since then he has been on a journey to find music with the most over-the-top lyrics, catchy melodies, and Neo-Classical speed. Having managed a popular local band and also co-owned and operated a band rehearsal room, Alex has a true appreciation of live music and showmanship. In his spare time, Alex loves to learn the history of bands and the genre and is also a part-time VoiceOver artist as well as a writer.

Birmingham-based DJ and blogger with a lifelong addiction to music. Raised on a diet of Floyd and Zep, and has a will to share everything he hears with friends. He’s always looking to find something new and original. John’s blog has allowed him the chance to do exactly that. He tries to see as many bands as he can and he’s not averse to trying something different; the weird, the strange and the challenging. John wants people to react and gain interest, tell him what you’re hearing, tell him about bands you think he should know, introduce him and help him expand his mind!

Effjerby

Effjerby was born at a very young age but was lured into radio rather early in life, where he started as so many do in his local hospital radio station, serving mostly as a presenter and a technical type. Since then, he has worked in three other FM radio stations in the same vein except for the last one, where he worked for 8 years but didn’t present any shows until the latter half as he had no interest. In his professional life he was an IT engineer but for the sake of his sanity (and his hairline), he retired from the profession some years ago. This did not stop him from using his skills in local radio, rather they had to poke him with pointed sticks and give him fresh tea to calm him down. In his personal life, he makes use of the other side of his brain by indulging in the creation of poetry, art, music, and other stuff which restored his hairline.

Roger Fauske

Roger Fauske has been presenting rock shows for the last 12 years. Music comes mainly from Finland, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway, with the Danes and Faroe Islanders making occasional appearances, and as well as the sounds, there are interviews, occasionally even sensible ones. As well as the outstanding music, you also get to hear occasionally comical attempts to pronounce Finnish words. The show goes out monthly these days due to its presenter spending most of his time getting to grips with the world of Quantum and Astrophysics (which ironically make the Finnish words seem relatively straightforward).

Simon “Angus” Field

Simon first got into rock music about 11 years old listening to a friend’s brothers Uriah Heep album, first gig was Thin Lizzy at Southend Kursall November 1976. Moved to Suffolk in 1977 and after meeting AC/DC at the Hammersmith Odeon and mimicking Angus Young on stage at Radio Caroline Roadshows, the nickname Angus stuck. Move forward to 1980 and he was the local Rock DJ for a number of years doing live Rock nights, which resulted in a number of reunion gigs in the early 2000’s. Since then has had regular spots presenting rock shows on community radio and is looking forward to bringing his show to HRH with a mixture of all things old and new in the rock world.

Greyfox Growl

The name was given by a friend in Colorado when Greyfox lived there for a while. His friend said that he sounded like a Greyfox Growling when he sang, so he kept it! Greyfox’s love for Southern Rock goes way back to the 70’s when he first saw Black Oak Arkansas singing Go Jim Dandy with the amazing Ruby Star on backing vocals and then came The Marshall Tucker  Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and of course lately among many Cadillac Three, Blackberry Smoke, and The Sam Morrison Band. Southern Rock means a great deal to Greyfox and he is very happy to be able to play the music he loves on Hard Rock Hell Radio, Peace and Love.

Enjoy the show…HELL YEAH.

Mad Brad

Mad Brad, who grew up near the Finsch Diamond Mine in South Africa, developed a love for music and DJ-ing from a young age, starting with playing records for his friend at age seven. By 14, he was recording his own radio sessions. Although his upbringing on the mines led him to become an electrician, his passion for music persisted. In 2004, he got a chance to host a show on ME FM in Plettenberg Bay, marking the start of his radio career. After ME FM shut down, he turned to podcasting in 2008 and launched the Rock & Roll Psycho Circus on MC FM and Knysna FM in 2010. Neil Not

Subjected to Motorhead and AC/DC at the innocent age of 7, feeding a growing need for more exhilarating music. Teen years consisted of exposure to WASP, Zodiac Mindwarp, and Twisted Sister and then the discovery at age 14 of the trashiness of Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax which just led to an insatiable appetite for all things fast, noisy, and heavy! Got into radio in May 2007 with a local community FM station (winning the Best Music Show award voted by listeners), eventually joining PlanetMosh Radio, then onto TBFM (picking up the Infernal Devastations Fanzine: ‘Best Internet Radio Show award in 2016) and finding a home at Hard Rock Hell Radio since 2017!

Born in the ‘70s Ro has been influenced by music throughout his life. At the tender age of 10, he was dutifully pumping 10ps into the Jukebox to listen to AC/DC’s Whole Lotta Rosie and Iron Maiden’s Run to The Hills constantly, much to the chagrin of everything else in the Youth Club! Ro then went to his first gig – SAXON! Since then all music has been his passion, with metal at its heart. DarkCompass has been one of the longest running Podcasts in the UK, starting back in 2004, featuring some of the best unsigned and independent artists from around the world.
