Welsh newcomers PVRIAH are ready to strike out to the masses backed by the release of their riveting new single and video, Mammoth Stomp, which arrives on Friday 31st January. The intriguing trio deliver a genre-defying sound drawing from the dark sludge of doom to the shimmering soundscapes of psychedelia. With influences spreading from Kyuss and Pink Floyd through to Black Sabbath, PVRIAH have the riffs, groove and guile to rise to the top of the UK scene.
Formed in 2023, and based in Swansea, Wales, PVRIAH were initially conceived by old friends Lewis Larkman (guitars, co-lead vocals) and Sam Wood (drums). Matthew Harris (bass, co-lead vocals) was the final piece to the puzzle which allowed the trio to surge forward and commence work on their self-titled debut EP. This release truly announced the band and has helped to garner a slew of new fans throughout the UK and beyond. Not wanting to limit their crafting just to the studio, the industrious riff merchants have now developed their live set, and their shows have already been widely noted for their ferocity, engagement, and raw power.
The band are ready to release their latest single, Mammoth Stomp, and it’s a menacing slab of burly stoner groove laced with dynamism and texture. Lewis Larkman (guitars, co-lead vocals) elaborates: “The track is an ode to our love for doom music and reflects our drive to push the genre’s boundaries. It incorporates raw crushing riffs and a dark atmosphere, aiming to portray the terror of the escape of an ancient forgotten beast.”
Now with their place in the underground circuit cemented, and with further singles and more planned for 2025; PVRIAH are poised to make serious waves on the national scene. A tsunami of sound awaits.
