Newcastle, UK’s stoner rock machine DUNES unleash their brand new single “One Eyed Dog” on all streaming platforms today. Their new album “Land of the Blind” will be released on January 17th through Ripple Music, followed by an extensive winter UK tour.
DUNES’ upcoming new album “Land of the Blind” encapsulates the British trio’s passion for electric and riff-driven songs with generous hooks and choruses, while dealing with the topics of anxiety, the passing of time, relationships and dealing with the general horrors of the outside world… but always with glimpses of humor and hope. This new 9-trackers features guest appearances from vocalists Ryan Garney of High Desert Queen on “Voodoo”, and Nick Carter (formerly of legendary Newcastle post-punk outfit Crane) on “Northern Scar”. A must-hear for fans of the Northern wave of desert-cruising stoner riders like Dozer, Lowrider or fellow cosmic fuzz merchants Psychlona!

Hailing from Newcastle, UK, DUNES are known for marrying up hard-hitting riffs with earworm melodies, channeling a handful of Northern grit through the fuzzed-out, cranked-up, trip-tinged sounds of the infamous generator parties of the 90s desert rock scene, and the beer-soaked, sweat-drenched and feedback-engulfed clubs of the grunge era.
DUNES has earned a solid reputation on the UK stoner rock scene, sharing the stage with the likes of Fatso Jeston, Nick Oliveri, Alain Johannes, Red Fang, High Desert Queen, Monster Magnet, Sasquatch, Truckfighters and more, also performing at a plethora of festivals including Desertfest London, Bloodstock Open Air, Masters of the riff, Ruination Festival and Idelfest in the UK, and overseas at Fuzz Festival (SE) and Love For Loud Festival (NO).
In November 2023, Dunes headed to Old Church Studios in Thropton in the far North of England to record ‘Land of the Blind’ with Adam Forster as studio engineer and Dunes drummer Nikky Watson as producer. The fantastic old church’s great-sounding room and otherworldly atmosphere allowed the band to immerse into the album-making fully. The trio is now ready to blast more fuzzy greatness into all heavy rock lovers’ ears as they recently joined the roster of renowned Californian label Ripple Music for the release of their new album “Land of the Blind” on January 17th, 2025.
DUNES line-up:
John Davies – guitar & vocals
Ade Huggins – bass & vocals
Nikky Watson – drums
