WEBB The Exchange 28/09/2024

Alt- Metal power trio WEBB were back on the road this week and this time they played Bristol Exchange Basement.

Ryan, Luca and Nigel, as always, were on top form (I have seen them on several occasions and they never fail to deliver).

WEBB

Frontman Ryan is definitely a force of nature and despite only a handful of people being present at the venue he never slowed down.

A 45 minute set that kicked off with “You’re Going Down” from the “Deadly Sins and Virtues” album showed those that had come along what the rest of Bristol was missing out on.

If you have been to a WEBB gig before you will know what I am talking about.

Ryan Webb

Ryan’s ability to switch from deep guttural vocal to higher range is quite impressive in a live situation.

Luca Massidda

Now to back up Ryan, you have Luca Massidda on bass guitar. This man is solid and commanding as a bass player, a zen like calmness to complement Ryan’s furore and tantalising wizardry riffs on guitar.

The whole thing is backed up by one of the finest drummers you will come across, Nigel Powell, who not only counts time but drives the band forward with a smile and humour that you will only understand if you see the trio in action.

Nigel’s control of the drums delivers a sound that demands your foot to tap.

WEBB

The chemistry on stage between the trio is infectious and when delivering tracks “Don’t” (from the Disenchanted E.P) and “Spread Your Wings”, “Don’t Ask Why2 and “Stay Alive” (from Deadly Sins and Virtues album) it showcases exactly why WEBB have become so highly regarded on the metal scene.

A WEBB show is one not to be missed, so keep an eye on their social media pages for when they are at a venue near you. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.
