Reading based Classic Rockers ‘The Dead Can Wait‘ are set to release their debut 8 track album ‘In Lumine‘ on October 25th 2024. The album boasts soaring and wailing vocals, catchy riffs and strong guitars. Everything you would want to hear on a classic rock album that’s been infused with a modern twist. This album brings back the nostalgia of the 80’s whilst combining some modern influences that leaves your feet tapping and your inner rocker wanting more!
Mick Hare (Lead Guitarist and founder member of the band) said “We have titled the album ‘In Lumine’ (Into the Light) as it reflects the rebirth of the band. We recorded most of the album five years ago but then covid hit and the band went our separate ways. Now reformed with an amazing new line up, we are moving from the darkness of obscurity into the light of this exciting business”.
Talking about the theme of the album, Lead Vocalist Ashley Stone remarked “The album reflects a feeling I have that this divisive world drives opinion, whilst our thoughts remain our own” He said “It is an album that is a collection of thought provoking stories about insecurity, unrequited love and the plight of refugees for example”.
Band Bio:Classic Rock Band “The Dead Can Wait” A legendary town centre music pub in Reading, Berkshire, popular with many local and touring bands was the catalyst for the formation of Classic Rock band The Dead Can Wait. Ata reunion of band members and gig goers from The Target in 2016, conversations started between guitarists Steve McLoughlin and Mick Hare about forming a band. From the seeds of an idea, The Dead Can Wait was formed. A couple of changes of vocalist later saw the introduction of Ashley Stone and the band started working on material for their debut album. Tracks were recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading with production from John Mitchell (Asia, Lonely Robot, It Bites).Almost as soon as the sessions were finished Covid struck and delayed the completion of the album. The band fell into a period of hibernation and the bass guitarist and drummer decided to leave and follow other opportunities .Move forward to 2024 and while reflecting on the unfinished album, the three remaining band members decided to resurrect the band, find replacements for the rhythm section, and release the record. A chance conversation between Andy Rowe bass player of melodic rockers The Room (Andy had also been a regular performer at The Target) and Steve McLoughlin instigated a plan to bring Rowe and his band mate Chris York on Drums into a rehearsal studio with the band. The session went well and The Dead Can Wait reformed to finish the album and start playing some live shows. The debut album is now finished with the first single ‘No One Knows Your Name’ releasing early Sept, the second single release planned for early October 2024, and the album at the end of the same month.
