STUCK A NERVE continue their rampage as the new face of UK Thrash Metal!
For their second single, Struck A Nerve wanted to show the heavier side of what they can do. They love thrash, but also love death metal and hardcore and really wanted to bring some Obituary-inspired stuff to the table. It’s a stomping and crushing bruiser and they’re really looking forward to bringing it to the stage soon!
The lyrics to INSIDE THE TORTURE FORTRESS deal with a notorious Uzbek prison called Jaslyk. It was a horrific place that was the site of massive and extreme human right abuses, and was operating until fairly recently. The band wanted to paint a Slayer-esque picture of what being captive in such a place must do to a person. It’s pretty heavy stuff, and it’s awful to know that such places operate throughout the world today.
They’ve kept the DIY ethic going with it too, and managed to film a pretty cool video themselves once again through Face Melting Media.
Nathan explain’s ‘We’re really happy with how it turned out, and we’ve learnt a huge amount throughout the whole process. It’s been so exciting handling more stuff ourselves, and combining it with the incredible work of our producer Sam Turbitt (Ritual Sound Studio) and artist Wes Brown’
ABOUT STRUCK A NERVE
STRUCK A NERVE was born out of a desire to write the most aggressive and savage thrash we could come up with. After about a year of trading demos, Chris and I (Nathan) started to take the idea of a really bludgeoning thrash band serious in summer 2023. We wanted to pay homage to some of our old-school heroes, while also delving into our love of modern crossover-tinged stuff like Power Trip, Enforced, and Pest Control.
We’ve known Aarran for a long time now, and he came into the fold after a hanging out at a Carcass show in our hometown. He loved the sound of the demos, and we developed the idea of creating a really aggressive band based around our interest in some of the uglier and violent parts of modern history.
We’re having a blast and we can’t wait to share what we’ve come up with, before we get on the road and start destroying some venues in the UK and Europe!
Their debut single NOCTURNAL TERROR was extremely well received and INSIDE THE TORTURE FORTRESS continues the momentum to unleash some of the most head-splitting thrash the UK has ever seen!
