Dangerous Game, the new Melodic Rock & AOR album from Bad Matrix. Releasing digitally on Sept 2. Experience 80s arena rock reborn!
Featuring nine meticulously crafted tracks, Dangerous Game seamlessly blends nostalgic ’80s rock energy with modern sonic precision. From roaring guitar riffs to sweeping keyboard soundscapes and powerful vocal hooks, this album is a must-listen for fans of classic arena rock.
The roots of Bad Matrix stretch back to late 1988, when the band originally formed as a high-energy Hard Rock and Commercial Rock recording project. The band’s infectious hooks and soaring melodies quickly caught the attention of major industry players, sparking intense interest from Warner-Chappell UK in 1990. At the publisher’s request, a full live band was assembled to record and showcase their music.
Despite sustained momentum and a series of explosive warm-up performances, the project was derailed by a deep UK economic recession. Warner-Chappell was forced to drastically slash its new artist roster, and the band ultimately disbanded in 1992—leaving a treasure trove of unreleased melodic rock anthems behind.
After three decades, the spark never faded. In 2023, driven by the encouragement of Lorenzo Sanz (Top Artist Promotions) and Jacqui Sas, founding guitarist Rob Sas set out to re-record, reinvent, and reignite these classic songs.
To bring this vision to life, Sas assembled a lineup of world-class musicians with legendary rock pedigrees. In January 2025, the project officially rebranded as Bad Matrix to establish a fierce, unique identity. Armed with today’s advanced recording technology, the band has injected a breath of fresh life into nine arena-ready tracks. Dangerous Game captures the unmistakable magic of 1980s and 1990s melodic rock, polished with a massive, cutting-edge modern production that makes them completely relevant for today’s rock fans.
