First in a series of interviews of bands who played at HRH Prog XV. These are the questions nobody usually asks…

DB: Please introduce your band and band members (as performed at HRH PROG 15)
Talie: We are a trio named Teiger (pronounced “tiger” – though nothing to do with the big cat!). Talie on vocals and guitar, Phil on bass, Jon on drums.
DB: Did you enjoy the festival? Any highlights/ mishaps/ disasters?
Phil: Foghat and Focus being obvious highlights, but Sweetpool and The Brackish were outstanding unsigned acts for me.
Talie: Loved it – I also spent a lot of time running back and forth between Sweetpool and Brackish. We had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people this year, including many who’d travelled from further afield. I suppose we did briefly kidnap Fay from Spriggan Mist.
Phil: Foghat and Focus being obvious highlights, but Sweetpool and The Brackish were outstanding unsigned acts for me.
DB: If you had to change your band name what would it be?
Talie: No, we couldn’t do that 🙂
DB: What is your favourite item of clothing? (Doesn’t have to be a stage outfit)
Phil: My wretchedly torn fingerless gloves, or my 20-year-old Frye Boots.
Talie: My fluffy black snood.

DB: What is your favourite trash TV programme? (Can be Netflix etc)
Phil: I do not do trash, but I accidentally watched The Apprentice, once. Jaaaaaam is as trash TV as I get.
Talie: I certainly consume far more television than is healthy, but it also tends to be more thriller/sci-fi. I’ve just started re-watching Better Call Saul, after Plur1bus reminded me how much I love Vince Gilligan’s work.
DB: Books or computer games? And which ones?
Phil: Books AND computer games. Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. And Silent Hill 2, original and remake.
Talie: Books – currently starting Espedair Street by Iain Banks. Though I did play Spiritfarer recently, and was blown away.
DB: If you had to be an animal which one would you be and why?
Phil: an Irish goat, because I am obviously cute and gentle and cuddly and calm with good facial hair, just like an Irish goat…
DB: Pick one superpower
Phil: Sleep. Not to cause in others. But man, I wish I could sleep.
Talie: Invisibility 🙂
DB: Describe your music to an alien who has just landed on Earth
Phil: Ideal for the soundtrack of whatever you go off to do next.

DB: What is the most annoying thing in life?
Phil: Bailiffs. Possibly superyacht owners.
Talie: Birds, boats, lorries and grey sweatpants.
DB: What’s on the cards for the band over the next year?
Phil: Getting asked to play HRH Prog 16, and welcoming new fans to one of our shows!
Talie: We’re looking forward to joining our friends Also Eden in Southampton on Feb 8th, then play London on Feb 19th.
DB: Anything else you want to share or plug with the HRH readers
Talie: The second album is mixed and mastered – stay tuned for something a little bit different!
