I.C.O.N were a popular UK metal band who entered hiatus in 2017. I.C.O.N performed alongside many artists including Geoff Tate, Blaze Bayley, Breed77, Udo Dirkschneider and many more, which saw the band perform across Europe in a near 20 year existence – releasing two studio albums, a live album and four EP’s.
Devils and Icons is a rebirth for Knowles, and an outlet to connect with music once again.
For fans of powerful guitar driven rock and metal, with a nod towards 90’s vibes and tunes that connect.
Scott says :
This is the first time really that I’ve written lyrics myself, and my day job asa counsellor psych therapist and working in mental health I think inspired me to write the lyrics that I wrote. It’s been an interesting process really, it’s about suicidal ideation it’s also about what our mind can tell us and what our brain can tell us some of the intrusive thoughts that we have, some of the messages that our brain can send us and how that can have an effect on us. I am the gun means that I am in charge of my own decisions. I am in charge of my own destiny. I can pull the trigger anytime I want to, do. and there’s some interesting lyrics that reflect around that it’s a really powerful message. I think and I’m really proud of how the lyrics have come out. I’m really proud of this song and I can’t wait for people to hear it.
