Next in our series of interviews with bands who played at HRH Prog XV. Jerry Richards joins me to answer the questions nobody usually asks…

DB: Please introduce your band and band members (as performed at HRH PROG 15)
Jerry Richards, Dave Pearce, Kriss Gordelier, Graham Manson, Chris Purdon.
DB: Did you enjoy the festival? Any highlights/ mishaps/ disasters?
Did we enjoy it? Is this a real question?
Yes, believe it or not, we did.
Highlights included the band laughing their heads off when Jerry won the Prog Legend Award. For once in his life he was quite speechless, but only for a moment. Then it was back to his usual babble…
Kriss G was delighted to discover a working washing machine. (Not Silver Machine)
We enjoyed immensely the initial reaction of the Award Ceremony crowd at our slot on the day of the Awards when the audience finally became aware that the band know only 3 chords and don’t play Prog Rock.
DB: If you had to change your band name what would it be?
Er… Jerry and the Space-Makers.
This is a ridiculous question. (DB: Yes it is Jerry. Yes it is.)

DB: What is your favourite item of clothing? (Doesn’t have to be a stage outfit)
Kriss G likes his stacked boots as they elevate him to the same altitude as Jerry and Graham.
For Jerry it’s simply black, chic, close fit apparel, expensive.
DB: What is your favourite trash TV programme? (Can be Netflix etc)
Jerry doesn’t watch TV.
Any news channel: it’s all fake.
DB: Books or computer games? And which ones?
Kriss G likes PlayStation Assassins Creed.
Jerry likes science and technology pamphlets and journals, particularly from the 1950s/60s.
DB: If you had to be an animal which one would you be and why?
I am an animal, Jerry R.
We’re all animals. Animal, vegetable or mineral…
Which one are you?

DB: Pick one superpower
We have all the super powers we need, thank you.
DB: Describe your music to an alien who has just landed on Earth
Fortunately, they are all familiar with what we do and have asked us to stop it.
DB: What is the most annoying thing in life?
Death
DB: What’s on the cards for the band over the next year?
Not dying is paramount.
Something wonderful, we know not what and we don’t care as long as it’s fun!
DB: Anything else you want to share or plug with the HRH readers
Yes: we’ll be back.
You didn’t see that coming, did you? See the previous question..
