UK Metalcore Bruisers AFTER SMOKE CLEARS Share “Unintelligent” Video

South London-based metalcore unit AFTER SMOKE CLEARS have shared the first taste of their upcoming sophomore studio album, Intentions, (coming later this year via self-release) in “Unintelligent“, a no-holds-barred display of unabashed metalcore fury. Recorded and produced by Meyrick De La Fuente (Exist ImmortalVEXEDEschalon), “Unintelligent” is a blistering, brutal and honest metalcore anthem that feels in equal measure emotionally potent and acutely aggressive.

The band states: “Unintelligent is a song about being treated like shit. Berated, and made to feel insignificant, the lyrics tell the story from a beginning, where you’ve heard these things said to you for so long you become accustomed to them, that you’ve become a permanent resident inside your own personal hell. The sample ‘Hell is real’ pays homage to the millions of people around the world, living in their own personal hell, sometimes being gaslit into thinking it’s not actually a problem, or that they’re making it up. But it is an internal reality to overcome.”

They continue, “The lyric ‘I’ll take it on the fucking chin’ provides a spark of strength and resilience, which will lead onto a catalytic change of self improvement and development of that spark into a raging fire within.”

With a brutally honest and emotionally resolute message, “Unintelligent” seeks to speak for those who feel voiceless—a fervent rallying cry for the downtrodden. With more details of Intentions to be announced in due time, “Unintelligent” provides a heavy, commanding and unmistakably impassioned first glimpse at what is to come on the UK heavyweights’ sophomore LP.

Born in the ‘70s Ro has been influenced by music throughout his life. At the tender age of 10, he was dutifully pumping 10ps into the Jukebox to listen to AC/DC’s Whole Lotta Rosie and Iron Maiden’s Run to The Hills constantly, much to the chagrin of everything else in the Youth Club! Ro then went to his first gig – SAXON! Since then all music has been his passion, with metal at its heart.
