Drunkelweizen’s debut album, is an ode to those entwined with the godly nectar, Alcohol.

The German Purity Law, or Reinheitsgebot, limited beer to the inclusion of water, barley, and hops. In the Pacific Northwest, they do things a bit differently. Fermented heavy metal aged in oak barrels with notes of classical inspiration, Drunkelweizen stumbles forth with their blend of Drunken Folk Metal!

The debut album, Pioneers of Alcohol, is an ode to those in history whose lives were ever entwined with the godly nectar, alcohol. From legendary poets to notorious outlaws turned folk heroes, spectacular miracles or a death that coined an unfortunate phrase, these songs are an homage to the legacy they brewed. Each track tells the glorious tale of one such great mind and culminates in the title track. The final songs are offered in tribute to those we did not recount, fueled by their memory and more than a few drinks of our own.

We invite you to lift up your drinking apparatus of choice (whether glass, stein, horn, or skull of thine fallen enemy) and join us in a toast to those that paved the way and all that the future has in store.

Their album is self-released, and will be available from the 6th September on all the usual Music Streaming services, and for download at their Bandcamp Page.

Author: Ro

Born in the ‘70s Ro has been influenced by music throughout his life. At the tender age of 10, he was dutifully pumping 10ps into the Jukebox to listen to AC/DC’s Whole Lotta Rosie and Iron Maiden’s Run to The Hills constantly, much to the chagrin of everything else in the Youth Club! Ro then went to his first gig – SAXON! Since then all music has been his passion, with metal at its heart.
